Acrylic paint on poster board. 3 hours.
See post with the poem for context. First time attempting freehand painting. Quite enjoyable. I just need paint now…

God’s Creepy Crawlers (Poem)

03/08/11

At camp we were focusing on God’s glory as shown through creation. I wrote a poem for a presentation we did about insects and other creepy crawlers.

Enjoy. :)

“God’s beautiful creation

The nighttime sky reflects

The mountains and the oceans

And even the creepy insects

With so many kinds of kinds

Keeping our planet living

Such a cornucopia of variety

Fills our hearts with thanksgiving

They’re weevils and beetles

With ridiculous proboscis

To say they evolved

Is just plain preposterous

The artful arachnid

With eight skillful feet

Weaves great masterpieces

Whose strength can’t be beat

Bees work their magic

From the powder of a flower

Their smooth, delicious honey

Shows God’s awesome, sweet power

The nightly chirping crickets

Keeps the universe in tune

The centipedes appendages

And the day bugs of June

The ants march in ranks

Working without strife

Each with a daily vocation

Supporting an army of life

All the earth’s creepy crawlers

Is a beautiful allegory

Of God’s infinite wisdom

And how deserving He is of glory”

Markers on paper. 3 minutes.
The little kids at our church were having a drawing competition and they asked me to submit something. It was later decided that had been too ‘tall’ to enter ;)

Maybe not the finish product, but here’s my design for the NCFCA nationals championship t-shirt competition. Pray they select it and then vote for me ;)
